Ann Albritton, Ph.D.
Art History Professor at Ringling College of Art and Design
July 20, 2017, Ann worked with Jennifer in different groups
I met Jennifer Awe when she first arrived at Ringling College of Art and Design as the Coordinator of Recreation & Wellness in 2006 and was impressed with her talent, her intellect, and her energy. By 2008 Awe became Associate Dean of Students where her active role in Student Life at the College demonstrated outstanding abilities. As she advanced in responsibilities as Associate Dean her talents were evident: leadership; engaging personality; ability to engage a large assembly of students and faculty as a leader and performer; plus excellent professionalism. In her responsibilities heading Student Life Operations and Facilities, Awe consistently dealt with problems in a progressive and very stable manner. During this time in 2011 she earned a Doctorate of Education: Higher Education Administration and Conflict Resolution/Negotiation. This was a remarkable achievement while acting as Associate Dean of Students for the College. Without a doubt, Jennifer Awe is able to do anything she attempts and do it well.

My esteemed colleague Dr. Awe is someone I consider to have a great mind for higher education. Providing what the students need is the top priority in every encounter that I have witnessed with her. The many years that we have known each other, Dr. Awe (a servant leader) has managed to offer a much needed transformation in the culture of the institution-on every level. Dr. Awe is a great communicator and particularly gifted at unifying a team toward a vision. I would highly recommend Dr. Awe for any senior position in the future and look forward to continued work together.
Katie Friis
Administrative Director, Dance Division at The Juilliard School
July 13, 2017, Jennifer worked with Katie in the same groupI appreciate the blend of humanity & professionalism that Jen has brought to student affairs at Juilliard. While she always brings her experience/education/authority to the table, she also takes a personal and nuanced approach to each situation, which I think is crucial in an environment like this. She demonstrates genuine care & concern for the individual student, while maintaining a broader, birds-eye view of necessary policies & procedures. I also appreciate Jen's sense of humor, which often helps to diffuse tense situations or calm the nerves of others. I have benefited from Jen's guidance on several occasions when navigating complex student issues, and I think of her as a valuable resource here at the School.
Sarah Carter
Director of Bridwell Art Library and Assistant Professor at University of Louisville
Jennifer is a powerhouse of amazing ideas and thoughtful action. I worked with her for several years at Ringling College of Art + Design, and she was a enthusiastic, dedicated teammate in all activities that our departments collaborated on. I saw her leadership skills rise to meet the occasion over the years as she advanced through positions of increasing responsibility at the College. Jennifer was also admired on campus by students and staff alike as the owner of her cute puppy, Vivi the Busy Boxer. I give my highest recommendation to Jennifer as a colleague and leader.

Kaitlyn Priestley
Career Adviser at Nova Southeastern University
Jen is one of the most enthusiastic and invested Ringling College staff members I have had the honor to work with. She welcomes each new student with a huge smile, gigantic hello and some funky dance moves on the side. When students enter the College she is one of the very first people that students meet, and she leaves a lasting impression on them throughout their education at Ringling College. She flourishes the most when she is interacting, coordinating, and collaborating with the student body. During my time spent at Ringling College, Jen was highly influential and supportive, and helped to lead me to my career choice today. There is no such thing as just %100 for Jen. She is one of the staff, one of the college, and one of the students; each year as students walk across the stage during commencement she is right there walking along side them, and a piece of her witty, dedicated, passion breaks off and follows those students in their future endeavors.

Jennifer's energy and enthusiasm for the work she does is obvious to anyone that spends time with her! Her approach is informed by collaboration through the teams and individuals that work with her, an understanding of trends through research she develops for each of her projects, a creative use of resources with the understanding that they are finite, and finally, an understanding of her role as a co-curricular facilitator of students' learning. I enjoyed my interactions with her and came to count on her as someone who produced results and made interdepartmental communication work for everyone involved.
